Common Questions

What is the role of calcium and vitamin D in treatment of anorexia nervosa-associated bone loss?

There is currently no published randomized controlled trial on the role of calcium and vitamin D in anorectic women. In the absence of clear evidence, however, most experts recommend 1000 mg to 1500 mg of elemental calcium and 400 IU of vitamin D daily for these patients.
