Common Questions

Do men and women (regardless of age) with a history of a non-traumatic fracture need to be screened for osteoporosis?

Yes, any man or woman with a history of a non-traumatic fracture should be screened for osteoporosis. Previous fracture, including silent compression fracture of the spine, is the strongest predictor of future fracture and warrants investigation, including a screening DXA.
